Mansfield University Athletic Hall of Fame
Willie Watts was a four-year letter winner as a linebacker on the football team under the direction of head coach Tom Elsasser. A three-year starter, Watts was named to 1st Team All-PSAC honors as a senior in 1990 and was a 2nd Team selection in 1989. He also earned 1st Team All-ECAC South selection in 1990. Watts was a three-time PSAC East and ECAC South Defensive Player of the Week selection and was a 1990 Pre-Season All-American selection by two separate national publications. He was also the 1990 Mansfield University Fall Athlete of the Year. An exceptional athlete, Watts was the third-leading tackler in school history when he graduated in 1991 and held the school record for tackles for a loss with 25. He still ranks fifth in school history with 254 career stops.
