Harry Furman was a three-year starter for MSNS in 1904 through 1906. The team captain of the 1906 squad, Furman was also the team’s leading rusher. In 1906, Furman also served as head coach after the coach left the area after the first game of the season. He directed the team to a 7-1 season, losing only to Bucknell. After graduation, Furman was offered a scholarship at Mississippi State where he was a starter and team standout for three seasons.
