Frick was a four-year letterwinner in football from 1990-93 playing under head coach Tom Elsasser. A defensive tackle, Frick was named the PSAC East Rookie of the Year in 1990 when he recorded 42 tackles and six quarterback sacks during his freshman season. In 1992 Frick earned All-PSAC East honors finishing fourth on the team with 76 tackles and ranked among the conference leaders in quarterback sacks with eight. He also topped the team in quarterback hurries with 14 earning post season All-American recognition. As a senior in 1993, Frick repeated his All-PSAC East recognition ranking third on the team in total tackles with 63, including a team-best 14 tackles for a loss to once again earn All-American honors. Frick still holds the MU career record for sacks with 21.5.
