Mansfield University Athletic Hall of Fame
Scott Smith was a four-year member and three-year starter on the Mountaineer baseball team from 1973-76.
During his time at Mansfield, his teams compiled an 81-46 mark (.638) and won the PSAC Championship with a then record 27-12 overall mark. The Mountaineers finished runner-up at the NCAA Division III Mid-East Regional that year with Smith being named co-MVP of the tournament. The team also won the ECAC Championship.
Smith was second on the team in batting during the '76 season with a .379 average and led the squad in doubles (14), home runs (8) and RBIs (42).
When he graduated, Smith held MU career records for doubles (27), home runs (15) and RBIs (94) and was second in hits (118), third in at-bats (343), and fifth in batting average (.344).
