Drass was a four-year letterwinner and two-time All-PSAC selection in football as an offensive tackle for the Mountaineers from 1979-82. He is currently one of the most successful NCAA Division III coaches in the nation as the head coach of Wesley College where he has compiled a 143-44-1 record and was named the NCAA Division III Coach of the Year in 2007.
