Mansfield University Athletic Hall of Fame
Vargason was a member of the Mountaineer baseball program from 1982-86. He was a three-time All-PSAC selection in the outfield and was the 1985 PSAC batting champion. Vargason was also a two-time All-Regional selection and earned 2nd Team All-American honors in 1986. In 1985, Vargason came off a medical-redshirt season to post a .466 batting average. He followed that up with a .453 batting average in 1986. Vargason's .434 career batting average ranks second in school history and third best in PSAC history. He still ranks third in career stolen bases (56), 7th in triples (10) and 11th in home runs (22). The 1985 PSAC North Player of the Year, Vargason was the MU Spring Athlete of the Year in both 1985 and 1986.
