Mansfield Athletics

Cunningham played football (end), basketball (center) and baseball (first base) from 1938-1940. In 1939 Mansfield State Teachers College football team was undefeated and named state champions with only two points scored against them. He shone with his punting and pass catching. He remained at Mansfield to coach the line in 1940-1941 and the school only lost two games when he coached.
