Roesch was the quarterback for the Mountaineers from 1959-1962 and won three varsity football letters. He compiled 58 completions in 108 attempts for 1,148 yards - an average of 19.8 yards per completion - eight touchdowns, and an average of 143.5 yards per game. Roesch completed 53.7 percent of his passes per game. He was honorable mention All-Conference and All-State in 1960. In 1960, he was 8th in the nation in small college passing and 9th in 1961. In one game against Shippensburg, he completed 10 of 14 for 285 yards. Bill was part of the passing combination “Roesch to Ronchi.”
