Mansfield University Athletic Hall of Fame
Trish Masters O’Neill was a four-year member of the softball team playing under the direction of head coach Joe French from 1988-91. The ace of the staff during all four seasons, O’Neill still holds numerous single season and career records. In 1990 O’Neill threw a school-record 224.2 innings winning a school-record 17 games in leading Mansfield to its first post-season appearance, finishing second in the ECAC Championship. The next season, Masters helped lead the Mountaineers to a school-record 33-16 season with a 16-8 overall record with a school-record six shutouts as Mansfield won it’s first-ever championship by capturing the ECAC title. Masters still holds seven school records including wins in a career (56) and season (16).
