Mansfield University Athletic Hall of Fame
Known as the “Monster” by his fellow football teammates, Jim Tomallo was a punishing middle linebacker for the Mountaineers from 1959-62.
On the gridiron, Tomallo lead the team in tackles each of his three varsity seasons, averaging between 13 and 16 tackles per game. A four-time letterman in baseball, Tomallo’s pitching helped Mansfield capture the PSAC title in 1961.
Tomallo was a multiple-winner of MU’s Athlete of the Month award, and was selected for the Philip Dewitt Sportsmanship Award in his senior year, recognizing all-around sportsmanship.
