Mansfield University Athletic Hall of Fame
One of the most successful coaches in MSNS history, Kichline was the athletic department at MSNS from 1916-1921. During his tenure, Kichline served as the head football coach, basketball, baseball and track coach. His football teams posted a 21-9-2 record over that span and he also coached the first state championship basketball team. Among the athletes developed by Kichline were MU Hall of Fame members and former major league baseball standouts Joseph Shaute and Mike Gazella as well as Fred Bedenk who later went on to star on the gridiron at Penn State and served as head football and baseball coach for the Nittany Lions.
