Larry played at Mansfield from 1955 through 1959 with 4 years in football and 3 years in basketball and received 3 varsity football letters. In 1957 he led in most yards gained and had the lead defense secondary in individual tackles numbering 20. He was a member of the 7th Annual PA State Teachers Conference All-State Team in 1957 and the PA University and College All-State Team. In 1957-1958 he played four 60 minute games and in 1958-1959 he played two 60 minute games. Larry was featured as the Athlete of the Month in the Flashlight. He was an “M” Club officer; an instrumental basketball referee for 3 years; a member of the Nueman Club and also worked 3 meals a day in the cafeteria. One newspaper stated that an electrifying 80-yard pass-run play from quarterback Cloyd Price to Larry Biddle brought Mansfield to an overwhelming 26-0 lead. This was during his sophomore year and his hometown paper headlined “Larry Biddle Makes Spectacular Run”. As a junior, Larry was elected co-captain and held the position of left halfback, which is a coveted spot. Known as “the hopper” Larry took advantage of every situation. He saved many touchdowns when playing against Lock Haven. He was known for putting his entire effort into every play. A 96-yard punt return against Millersville in 1957 is considered a record. During his freshman year he also made a 70-yard pass reception which also qualifies as a record.
