Amendola was one of the “Casey’s Boys” of the post-war era. An outstanding running back and defensive standout, Amendola was part of the 1946 state championship team.

Amendola still holds the record for the longest punt return, 70 yards, in the school history. He was nominated in 1947 by Tom Harmon for the Little All-American grid squad.
