Sue was a starter in basketball for two and a half years prior to knee surgery – 1979-83. She played freshman, sophomore and senior seasons. Sue was redshirted in junior year due to surgery. She played women’s basketball as forward, center and guard, and in softball as a starter she was pitcher, shortstop and second base with varsity letters in basketball for 1980-1981 and 1982 and in softball for 1980-1981 and 1983. She held the record top ten rebounding as of 1986 and had the most wins for a pitcher through 1983. She was named the most improved player in 1983-1984 season; had the highest batting average in 1983 and the most RBI’s. “She was a co-captain who led the team both on and off the field” according to Laurie Johnson 1983. In basketball she averaged over 12 points per game and was ranked nationally in the ECAC for free throws, rebounds and shot percentage with an average of 10 rebounds per game.
