Raymond was on the Men’s Varsity Golf team from 1976 through 1978 and was captain in 1977-1978 until the sport was discontinued. He was on the varsity wrestling team from 1976 through 1979 and from 1980 through 1981. He was redshirted the 1979-1980 season; and captained the team 1978-1979 and 1980-1981. Ray received 2 letters in golf in 1977 and 1978 and 4 letters in wrestling in 1976-1979 and 1980-1981. He was 3rd place in 1978 division 3 NCAA’s wrestling championship and 4th place in 1978 PSAC wrestling tournament (167 lb. class). In 1976-1977 his golf team placed first in PSAC. He had the highest winning percentage on the wrestling team in 1977-1978 and was names the most valuable wrestler by his team in 1977-1978. Ray was named 1978 MSC Athlete of the Year; 1978 Decker Award for Outstanding Athletic Achievement & Services Rendered to School and Community.
