Mansfield Athletics

Brown played basketball and tennis at MU for 4 years. He was a 3 year letter winner and a 3 year starter (1978-1979, 1979-1980, & 1980-1981). In his basketball career Darryl scored 876 points, a 10.3 per game average. He scored almost half of his career points in 1980-1981 when he led the team with 400 points. He was the leading rebounder in 1978-1979, 1979-1980 and 1980-1981 seasons. He still ranks third in school history in career rebounds with 733. He also ranks in the top ten for career free throws attempted and free throws made. Brown was a second team all-conference selection in 1979-1980. He was named to first team all-conference, first team all-east and third team All-American his senior season. In his tennis career Mansfield posted a 59-44 record in Brown’s four season and won the ECAC Division II Championship in the 1979-1980 season and went on to the PSAC Playoffs in 1980-1981. Darryl was number 1 in Singles and #1 in Doubles.
