In 1980 Jordan was chosen as Male Athlete of the Year and was named Most Valuable Player in Track and Field. He received varsity letters from 1976 through 1981. His record includes 110 High Hurdles, 100m, 400m IH, High Jump, 400m Relay, Decathlon and indoor equivalents in the sport. Barry holds records in decathlon, 110m HH, 4 x 100 relay, and indoor records include the 55m dash, 55m HH and high jump. All these records are unbeaten.
