Sean Ringgold and
David Wootten pick up wins to highlight Mounties at Houghton Highlander Invitational on Saturday, Jan 21.
Ringgold picked up a pair of top finishes winning the 60-meter dash with a final's time of 7.06 and a 200-meter dash win with a time of 22.30.
David Wootten set the tone for the day taking the top spot in the 5K with a time of 15:48.50.
Derek Simpson finished fourth in the race with a time of 16:50.64.
The 60-meter dash as a group of Mounties join Ringgold in the finals.
Brenden Sofo finished third in 7.19.
Aaron Thomas and
Derrick Johnson finished sixth (7.29) and seventh (7.35).Â
Ibra Sheriff and
Michael Ho competed in the preliminary finishing ninth (7.38) and 16
th (7.62) in that round. Ho also finished in the 200-meter dash landing in 24
th (25.27).
Jackson Doughty and
Terrance Quaker finished second and third in the 400-meter dash with times of 52.80 and 52.89 respectively. Conner Bridwell finished seventh in 54.06 seconds.
Seth Neal finished 12
th in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:07.27.
Baba Toure finished 19
th in the mile with a time of 4:51.56.
Isaac Showers and
Abraham Calderon competed in the 3K finishing 19
th and 22
nd with times of 9:46.27 and 9:57.30 respectively.
A Mansfield 4x400-meter relay team consisting of Sofo, Toure, Neal, and
Simon Richards finished 11th in 3:57.30.
The Mansfield University track and field team is back in action on Saturday, Jan. 28 as they compete in the Bison Opener hosted by Bucknell University.
