ITHACA, N.Y. – The Mansfield Men's track and field team competed in the Southern Tier Invitational hosted by Cornell University on Saturday, Jan.14.
David Wootten took home a second place finish in the men's mile with a time of 4:32.98.
Derek Simpson (8
th, 4:50.49),
Abraham Calderon (9
th, 4:55.24) and
Isaac Showers (11
th, 4:57.47) joined Wooten in that race.
Sean Ringgold finished fifth in the 60-meter dash finals collecting a day best of 7.04. His time was 7.06 in the prelims.
Brenden Sofo (10
th, 7.21),
Aaron Thomas (12
th, 7.32),
Ibra Sheriff (13
th, 7.34),
Michael Ho (15
th, 7.54), and Conner Bridwell (17
th, 7.66) rounded out the Mountie sprinters.
Christian Tanner finished 8
th in the 1000-meter run with a time of 2:34.64.
Seth Neal and
Baba Toure also competed and finished 11
th (2:43.12) and 12
th (2:47.38).
The Mountaineers return to action Saturday Jan. 21 as they travel to Houghton College for the Highlander Invitational.
