ERIE – Caitlin Klobosits went the distance, while Kate Pratt and Chara Dixon each drove in two runs to give Mansfield a 5-2 over Gannon in the nightcap of a PSAC inter-division doubleheader Tuesday afternoon in Erie.

Mansfield dropped the opener 3-0.

With the split, Mansfield picks up its 20th win of the season marking the first time since the Mountaineers won 21 games in 2006 they have achieved that milestone. MU is now20-13 on the season with just a playoff-deciding doubleheader at Lock Haven Saturday remaining in the regular season.

In the nightcap, Mansfield would score all the runs they would need in a four-run fourth inning. Kelley Pfleegor led off the inning with single to center and moved to second on an infield hit by Courtney Bauder. Kaitlin Kramer then beat out a sacrifice bunt to lead the bases with no outs.

Kate Pratt then drilled a double to left to score Pfleegor and Bauder giving Mansfield a 2-1 lead. After on out, Chara Dixon delivered a triple to score Kramer and Pratt and increase the Mountaineers lead to 4-1.

Gannon (27-13) cut the lead to 4-2 with a run scoring double by Kelly Trace.

Mansfield got that run back in the top of the seventh when Stephanie Simmeth hit a one-out double to left center and moved to third on a field choice on a groundout by Dixon. She scored on a throwing error on the play.

Caitlin Klobosits threw her fifth complete game of the season scattering five hits and striking out three while allowing just one walk. She improves to 5-2 on the season.

Pratt doubled and drove in two runs while Dixon tripled with two RBI to lead the Mansfield offense.

In the opener, Gannon's Megan Dragon got the better of Mansfield's Kate Pratt in a pitching dual. Dragon allowed just four hits while striking out 13. She walked none to improve to 11-9 on the year. Pratt was touched for seven hits while striking out four and walking three.

Mansfield is currently 7-7 in the PSAC Central trailing Lock Haven at 7-5 for the third and final playoff spot from the Central Division. Lock Haven plays first-place Bloomsburg (9-3) on Friday before hosting the Mountaineers in the regular-season ender on Saturday.
