Mike Maniscalco on the Cornell 25-yard line as time expired to preserve a 21-14 Cornell win over Mansfield in the season finale for both teams Friday night at Schoellkopf Field.

The Mountaineers onside kickoff failed but the Mansfield defense held Cornell giving the Mountaineers the ball on their 31-yard line with 1:13 on the clock and no timeouts.
After a sack, Mansfield faced a 4th and 17 from their own 24-yard line when Maniscalco found
Sean Green on a 47-yard competition between two Cornell defenders to give Mansfield a 1st-and-10 from the Cornell 29 yard line.
After a spiked pass the kill the clock with eight seconds remaining, Maniscalco and Green hooked up again for a 13-yard strike with Green getting out of bounds at the Cornell 16-yard line with 1.7 seconds remaining.
But Clausner broke through on the final the play to end Mansfield comeback hope as time expired.
As in last week's week over Post, Mansfield opened the game by scoring on a blocked punt on the first series of the game when Jon Keller blocked a punt at the Cornell 31-yard line, recovered the ball, and ran it in from six-yards out for the score.
Cornell tied the score late in the first quarter on a 4-yard run by Brendan Miller and took a 14-7 lead with Abe Mellinger scored form 6-yards out on a reverse with less than four minutes remaining in the first half.
Cornell added to its lead late in the third quarter when Miller scored on a 1-yard plunge for a 21-7 lead.
It look as if Cornell would put the game on ice when Rodriquez's field goal attempts was blocked and returned 72-yards for a Mansfield touchdown by linebacker

Cornell had 294-yards to Mansfield's 140-yards in total offense.
Freshman running back
Dylan Flynn had 44-yards rushing on seven carries while Green caught six passes for 97-yards. The Mountaineer passing game was disrupted by a blitzing Cornell defense that recorded six sacks on the night. The Mansfield offense line had allowed just four sacks on the season going into the game.
Mansfield, which had a CSFL-high 25 turnovers coming into the game, turned the ball over four times on interceptions.
The Mountaineer defensive front four recorded six sacks giving them a CSFL best 26 on the season.
Cody Croasdale led the team with a game-high 14 tackles including a sack.
Paul Houseknecht had 11 stops and two sacks while defensive back
Troy Taylor was credited with 10 tackles and his fifth interception of the season.
Cornell quarterback Brendan Miller completed 16-of-29 passes for 180 yards while Mellinger caught seven balls for 106-yards. Douglas Famularo picked up 113-yards on the ground on 26 carries.
The Mountaineers end the season with a 2-5 overall and 2-4 CSFL mark while Cornell closed out the year at 3-4.
