MANSFIELD- Mansfield University senior Jason Twedt was recently named to the 2004 CoSIDA District II Academic All-American football team. The requirements for this honor are to have at least a 3.25 GPA and to be a starter or a key reserve. Twedt, a starter at defensive lineman, carries a 3.92 GPA in physics and started in all 10 of Mansfield's games this season. 
 
Luke Alex was named to the 2^nd team CoSIDA Academic All-America Regional honors.  Alex maintains a 3.92 cumulative GPA in secondary education mathematics.  A starter on the defensive line this season, Alex  has racked up 24 tackles including 13 solo and recovered a fumble. A three-year letter winner, Alex has recorded 33 tackles, 18 of them solo's, during the course of his career.
