MANSFIELD, Pa. – The Mansfield Mountaineers field hockey season is almost in full swing. With contests right around the corner, the program is working hard to make their mark in 2026.

Head Coach Brittany Hansrote (twelfth season) looks to utilize her competitive nature, phenomenal leadership, and deep knowledge of the sport to push this team back into the postseason. With a combination of returning players and five new freshmen, the team is just as ready to put their work into play.

"Our preparation consisted of a lot of collaboration. With new faces, it was important that we worked hard to get everyone on the same page," Hansrote stated. "On top of that, perfecting out fundamentals and building on them played a big role in our preparation."

The Season Ahead

The 2026 season marks a turn of the page for this program, looking to pick themselves up from the season prior. "I'm excited to see how the team comes together this year and what product we put out and present on the field," Hansrote said.

The Mountaineers begin their season September 5^th and 6^th, when they will compete on back-to-back days in the Field Hockey Classic against Southern Connecticut State University and Saint Michaels College. Their first home match is set for September 11^th, when they take on Franklin Pierce University.

Mansfield will host nine home events and travel seven times in the 2026 season.

Standout Players

Among the returners is Jenna Duke, the 2025 team leader in scoring (14 Goals | 6 Assists | 34 Points) and second team all-conference selection. Duke, entering her senior year, was also named to the 2026 NFHCA Watchlist. Her sister, Amanda Duke and Kathleen Marchiani are the selected Captains for the season.

Goalkeeper Lydia Miller also returns, coming off a season with 85 saves and Reagan Krier returns to lock down the opposing offenses.

There are also new faces on the team, hungry to help in any way they can. Alyssa Czekai and Korimae Reisinger are two new faces expected to make an immediate impact for the Mounties.
