Box Score 2 KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Mountaineer baseball team (10-15, 1-5 PSAC East) traveled to compete against Kutztown University (10-10, 2-4 PSAC East) on Saturday (Mar. 28) afternoon, with the Mounties falling in both.
Game One: Kutztown 3, Mansfield 2
Starting pitcher for game one was Garrett Emerick, he threw six innings, allowing just three hits and three strikeouts.
Both teams sat quiet up until the fourth inning, when Peter Tadic hit a double to left center bringing in Slade MicTigue to break the silence.
Brinden Floyd opened up the seventh with a long single to left center, which brought home Billy Riggs to add to the lead.
In the seventh, Kutztown was finally able to add some points to the board collecting all three runs to end the game, 3-2.
Game Two: Kutztown 4, Mansfield 3
Second game starting pitcher was Tyler Swineford, who played for five innings and had seven strikeouts.Â
The scoreboard lit up in the first inning with a sneaky score by Nick Ledger thanks to a pitch gone wild.
Ryan Sekulski had a single into the center field during the second inning that allowed Riggs to add another run.Â
The Golden Bears were able to pickup four runs in the second inning giving them the lead for the remainder of the game.
The final run of the series was scored by Cooper Rother due to a sacrificial fly ball to left field hit by Mictigue.

The Mounties are set to finish the final two games in the series, tomorrow March 29th, in Williamsport, Pa at the Historic Bowman Field field, with the games starting at 1:00 and 3:30 pm.
