MANSFIELD, Pa. – Mansfield Athletics will host a National Girls and Women's in Sports Day event during the women's basketball game on Wednesday, Feb. 4.
 
The women's game is set to tip off at 5:30. The event is hosted by the Mansfield field hockey and softball teams and sponsored by the Mansfield University Women's Center.

National Girls and Women in Sports Day is an annual day that recognizes the accomplishments of female athletes and promotes gender equality in sports. It's celebrated on the first Wednesday in February. 
 
Girls ages 8-14 will receive free admission one adult admitted free with each girl. Upon arrival, each girl will receive a coupon voucher for the concession stand to get a free bottle of water and popcorn. 
 
The attendees will also have the opportunity to meet and interact with current collegiate female athletes, play games, interact with a selfie station, and watch the Mounties take on the Lock Haven Bald Eagles.
