2025 Women’s Soccer Season Preview: The Start of Something New

Mansfield women's soccer begins their 2025 campaign on Thursday.

MANSFIELD, Pa. – The summer air at Mansfield’s soccer field carries something beyond warmth; it carries the weight of promise. Coach Spencer Reinford stands center circle, eyes steady, the lineup before him a tapestry of experience, hunger, and potential. Each player’s position is a thread in the larger story waiting to unfold on this field.

This is not just another season for the Mansfield Mountaineers women's soccer team, it's the start of something new.

The Arrival of a New Culture
At the heart of this season’s chapter is the arrival of first-year head coach Spencer Reinford, a name that might not yet be etched into the program’s history, but one that carries a fresh vision and a determined energy. Reinford takes the reins as head coach in 2025, inheriting a program ready to turn the page.

This year’s squad is a mix of hungry underclassmen and returners who stayed loyal through the transition. More than any single name, though, the identity of this group will be collective grit—a team trying to build something greater than the sum of its parts.

The Season Ahead
The schedule ahead offers no handouts. The Mounties open the year on Thursday (Sept. 4) against Caldwell University, their solo non-conference test that will give fans their first glimpse of Reinford's system in action. Just two days later, the team returns home to face Kutztown, kicking off an 17-game campaign that includes 16 intense Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) matchups.

Nine home contests and eight road games are on the 2025 schedule to see the new red and black squad, including their Pink Out matchup with Shepherd on October 25, with the PSAC postseason starting on November 8.
