MANSFIELD, Pa. – The Mansfield Mountaineers women's soccer team opened up the 2025 campaign as the team fell in their home opener to the Caldwell Cougars, 6-0, on Thursday (Sept. 4).
The Cougars came to a quick lead scoring two goals within the first eight minutes.
Caldwell scored again after another 27 minutes of play
The Mountaineer defense held steady, not allowing another goal in the first half, but the Cougars cruised out to a 3-0 start after the first 45 minutes.
In the second half, the Cougars were able to continue their momentum furthering their lead by another three goals, finalizing the game 6-0.
Samantha Newman had two shots with one on goal.
Serenity Esterline and
Angel Gulé each had six saves on the night.
