MANSFIELD, Pa. - The Mansfield Mountaineer baseball program had three student-athletes named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, the organization announced on Tuesday (June 3).
Ryan Sekulski,
Garrett Emerick, and
Jacob Houtz represented the Mounties on the team.
The CSC Academic All-District Softball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
To be eligible an undergraduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average. Athletes must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played
OR must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games.
Sekulski earned a 3.68 cumulative GPA. He hit .306 with three home runs 25 RBIs, starting 38 games in centerfield.
Emerick earned a 3.65 cumulative GPA. He appeared in 11 games with ten starts, pitching 46.1 innings. Emerick tossed 28 strikeouts.
Houtz earned a 3.82 cumulative GPA. He was also named the Mansfield male scholar athlete this year. He hit .444 on the season with 14 homeruns 49 RBI starting in 44 games. Houtz has been elevated to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members.
