MARSHALL, Minn. – The Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) released their All-American baseball rosters on Wednesday (May 28) morning and
Jacob Houtz was named to the honorable mention squad, becoming the first Mountaineer to earn this accolade.
A total of 48 student-athletes were named to either the first, second or third team All-America squad while 16 were named honorable mention. The CCA All-America and All-Region baseball teams, which are selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC) from schools playing Division II baseball, were first established in 2007.
On Tuesday (May 20), Houtz became the first Mountaineer to be named the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Region Player of the Year and marked head coach
Andrew Chalot's fourth All-Atlantic Region Team selection.
On Friday (May 16), Houtz became the first Mountie to be named the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Region Player of the Year since Jason Manwaring in 2002.
Houtz became the sixth player in program history and the first player since Ryan Wyland in 2007 to be awarded Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Athlete of the Year honors, while also picking up his first career First Team accolade.
