EASTON, Pa. - The Mansfield Mountaineers Women's track and field team finish six in top the top ten at the Leopard Invite, hosted by Lafayette University on Saturday, Mar. 29.
Madison Ziska led the field events for the team sweeping the competition in first place with a long jump mark of 5.40 meters. Ziska now holds the second furthest distance in program history.
Riley Batdorf and
Marissa Allen debuted in shot put placing 24
th with 6.93 meters and 21
st with 7.38 meters.
Minyhah Easterling and
Blaze Wood joined for marks of 11.45 meters for sixth and 20
th with 7.57 meters which both are personal best.
Wood tried her hand at hammer placing 15
th with 24.71 meters which is the eighth furthest mark in program history.
Easterling attempted discus for the first time taking 15
th and throwing 27.73 meters, Wood placed 20
th with 19.22 meters.
Alexis McNitt accompanied Wood in javelin where they finished eighth (24.95 meters) and ninth (24.07 meters).
Allen ran the 3000-meter steeplechase finalizing in fourth place with a time of 12:41.90.
Libby Moore raced around the track for the 5000-meter placing fourth with a time of 23:35.88.
Sandra Lemus took 15
th with 13.51, a personal best, in the 100-meter dash followed by her teammate McNitt with 24
th with 14.30.
Both also took place in the 200-meter where Lemus finished 21
st (29.83) and right in front of her McNitt finished 20
th (29.51).
