Parks Sits in 11th in the Heptathlon After First Day of PSAC Championships

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Freshman Alyssa Parks sits in 11th place after the first four events of the Heptathlon at the 2026 Outdoor Track and Field Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships, on Thursday, April 30; hosted by Shippensburg University. 
 
Parks has 2412 total points through day one. 
 
The first event was the 100-meter hurdles. Parks ran a 16.35 second race, winning her heat and collecting 672 points. 
 
In the high jump, Parks cleared a height of 1.45 meters, earning 566 points. 
 
Parks had the ninth best throw in the shot put hitting a mark of 9.39 meters, which earned her 490 more points. 
 
The final event of the day for the heptathlon was the 200-meter dash. Parks would run a time of 27.34 earning her the final 684 points to bring the day one total to 2412. 
 
Marcus Quaker was set to compete in the Decathlon but pulled up with an injury after the first event, ending his championships.

Parks will complete the Heptathlon's final three events (long jump, javelin and 800-meter run) and Mansfield will compete in the preliminary rounds of the PSAC Championships Friday, May 1.
