LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – On Thursday afternoon (Mar. 7), Saraj Ali of the Mansfield Mountaineers men's basketball team was named to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Second Team after his sensational sophomore season, announced by the conference office.Â
Ali was only one of two underclassmen to be named to an All-Conference team. This award will join his decorated award room after winning the PSAC East Rookie of the Year last season.Â
Ali finished seventh in the conference in rebounds per game (7.5) and 18th in points per game with 14.7. He also placed 15th in blocks, knocking down 24 shots this season.  Â
Shooting 60.4% in his sophomore campaign, the forward posted eight double-doubles and a new career high of 29 points at Kutztown. Â
The forward helped anchor down the first trip to the PSAC Postseason Tournament for the Mounties since the 2012-13 season. Mansfield finished out their campaign as the number six seed and earned their most wins and conference wins in the coach John Szentesy era.Â
