MANSFIELD, Pa. - The Mansfield Mountaineers men's basketball team competed on February 14, in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action against Shepherd University. In the close contested battle the Rams pulled away with the with 86-72.
Sterling Scott led the Mountaineers with 18 points.
Julian Wilson contributed 13 points and Joshua Franklin added 11.
The Mountaineers and the Rams took the floor, both teams with exciting energy.
Mansfield's Darrien Berrios Rivera put up ample points within the first half of play.
Offensive possession swung both ways on the pendulum until Sheperd pulled away with a decent lead, giving them a leg up going into the second half of play.
Mansfield's second half entrance was electric and efficient.
They were able to offensively attack the Rams with consistency, while keeping a handle on their defense.
Both teams battled, but Shepherd rammed ahead, finishing the game 86-72.
