SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Austin Lewis of the Mansfield Mountaineers baseball team placed another award on his shelf after being named the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Atlantic Regional Pitcher of the Week, the office announced on Wednesday afternoon (Mar. 6). 

Lewis becomes the first Mountaineer to win the award since Hunter DePrimo was tabbed as the Regional Pitcher of the Week back in 2021.  

The junior also took home the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced on Tuesday afternoon (Mar. 5). 

Lewis tossed out his best performance of his Mountie season this past weekend at the DII Challenge against Saint Thomas Aquinas College in Mansfield's 5-4 win. On Saturday (Mar. 2), the Altoona native struck out 13 batters across five innings of work, while only allowing three hits and no walks.  

This will solidify Lewis's first victory of the season as his relief performance helped keep the Trojans off the scoreboard while he was on the mound.
