MANSFIELD, Pa. – Mansfield Mountaineer field hockey student-athletes
Hannah Meyer and
Kenedy Stroup were named to the 2023 College Sports Communicators (CSC) At-Large Academic All-District Team, the organization announced on Tuesday, May 23.

The 2023 Academic All-District® Women's At-Large Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 22.

Meyer and Stroup were two of six Mountaineers to land on the NFHCA National Academic Squad in February.

Meyer, who earned National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-American honors this season, earns her first Academic All-District award after securing a 3.856 GPA in the sports nutrition department. Meyer excelled on the field once again as a junior, becoming the 20th athlete in program history to be named an All-American.

Meyer started all 18 games in 2022, totaling 1091 minutes, while dishing out three assists and finding the back of the net three times. Meyer finished tied for second in the PSAC and ninth in the nation with four defensive saves.

Stoup brings in her second Academic All-District honor of 2022-23, after earning her first following women's basketball season. The two-sport Mountaineer standout finished her junior academic year with a 3.712 GPA in the business department.

Stroup was a key to the No. 9 Mountaineers scoring attack this season, where she finished tied for second on the team in points with 16, including seven goals in two assists.
