LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - In the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) release today, August Lewis, Hannah Meyer, Kenedy Stroup, Alex Esterling, and Kalin Duke headlined the list of members for the Mounties that were named to the 2023 All-PSAC Conference teams. This group marks the most for the program since 2019 when they also placed five.Â
Lewis was named to the PSAC All-Conference First Team. Stroup and Meyer were listed as Second Team members and Duke and Esterling made the Third Team.Â
For Meyer and Esterling, this will be their third straight season being named All-Conference, while Lewis, Stroup, and Duke have earned their first honor in the prestigious award.Â
August Lewis becomes the first Mountie since Brittany Ryan in 2019 to earn First Team Honors. Lewis had a career season, setting the record for the most shutouts in program history after earning her 14th shutout during the season and broke the single season record for shutouts as she now has eight on the season.Â
For Hannah Meyer, this marks her third straight appearance as an All-PSAC member. As a captain, she has remained the defensive leader, pushing the Mounties to the fifth most shutouts by any team this season. Meyer picked up three defensive saves, two goals, and an assist in the regular season. Â
Kenedy Stroup remained a focal point of the Mansfield offense, knocking in six goals and ten assists. Her assists mark is one shy of the single season record and placed her tied for sixth in Division II in the regular season.Â
Alex Esterling shined once again this year as the leading scorer for the Mounties. With 14 goals and four assists on the season, the forward finished tied for sixth in the nation in goals and third in the conference. This marks her third straight appearance on an All-PSAC Team. Â
Kalin Duke rounds out the five Mounties, earning her first mention on these teams. Being the enforcer of a tough Mountaineer group, the midfielder has scored four goals and an assist on the year. Her presence has caused much frustration from the opposing players, earning the recognition of her toughness to label her an All-PSAC member.Â
These five have contributed to the incredible run by the team to host and win their first playoff game after their 1-0 overtime victory over the fifth seeded Huskies and make their first playoffs since 2019.Â
The No. 7 Mansfield Mountaineers field hockey team will continue their magical season this weekend when the team faces the top seeded East Stroudsburg Warriors in the PSAC Semifinal matchup on Friday, November 3 for a noon start.Â
