Box Score MANSFIELD – Mansfield gave No. 3 Shippensburg all it could handle, but the nationally-ranked Raiders toughed out a 3-0 win under the lights and heavy rain Saturday evening in PSAC field hockey play at Van Norman Field.

One-loss Shippensburg (10-1, 3-0 PSAC) got an early goal in the sixth minute on a rocket shot by Kylie Huffman from 15 yards out. The Raiders wouldn't score again until just before halftime when Brooke Zeiders took a Suzanna Muller pass and put it in goal to extend the lead to 2-0.

Mansfield (1-9, 0-2 PSAC) held the Raiders scoreless for the next 32 minutes until Mary Spisak capped the scoring in the 63
rd minute.

Meghan Griffin recorded her first career defensive save in the first half. Keeper
Laura Lawson totaled 11 saves in the game.

Katie Lipski each put two shots on goal to lead the Mountie offense.

Mansfield has shown continuous improvement throughout the season cutting Ship's goal total from five on Sept. 10 down to just three. The Mounties also recorded 12 shots in Saturday's game after totaling just three in their first meeting with the Raiders.
