In the bottom half of the inning, WVW got to Mansfield starter Emily Crandell with a double and single to put runners on first and third.

As she had in the first game, Inman came in relief of Crandell but the Bobcats managed to score five runs off three hits and a MU error to take a 7-2 lead.

Mansfield came right back in the next inning when Hewitt drove in a run with a single but the Mountaineers stranded two runners and trailed 7-3.
