went six strong innings and freshman Marshal Kiessling hit his first two collegiate home runs to lead Mansfield to a 7-3 win  in the nightcap and a split in a PSAC East doubleheader with West Chester Sunday afternoon at Kelly Field in Symthe Park.

West Chester rallied for four runs in the top of the seventh to take the opener 6-3.

In the nightcap, West Chester took a 1-0 lead in the first with Justin Roman doubled and later scored on a single by Matt Petrizzi.

Mansfield got that run back along with one more in the bottom half of the inning when Westyn Baylor drilled his fourth home runs of the season -- a two-run shot over the left field fence.

Taylor settled in and Mansfield increased its lead to 4-1 with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. Keissling lead off the inning with a home run down the right field line. Taylor Hillson followed with a single and later scored on a West Chester throwing error.

West Chester closed the gap to 4-3 with a pair of runs in the sixth but Mansfield got three more runs in the bottom of the inning – two coming off Keissling's second home run of the da --, to take a 7-3 lead into the seventh.
West Chester got its first to hitters on base before Taylor was replaced with reliever Louis Sick. The senior struck out the first batter he faced before retiring the final two batters he faced on ground outs to preserve the win.
Anthony Renz went 3-3 in the game with Kiessling going 2-3 with two home runs and four RBI's. Taylor Hillson also had two hits.

Taylor improved to 4-2 on the season, scattering six hits and striking out two over six innings.

In the opener, Mansfield starter Jonathan Earnest gave up two-out run in the first on a sacrifice fly by Chris Pula. The score remained at 1-0 until West Chester scored another run in the top of the sixth on a solo home run by Tyler Coleman.

Mansfield rallied in the bottom half of the inning with Brandon Miller leading off with single to left and moving to third on a one-out single by Baylor. One batter later, Johnny LeClair drove in Miller on a fielder's choice for the Mountaineers first run. Baylor later scored off a wild pitch to tie the game before  Renz reached on an error. Scott Rockwell ran for Renz and stole second. Rockwell scored to give Mansfield a 3-2 on a single by Stanton Tentnowsi.

In the top of the seventh, Jeremy Mapstone replaced Zach Sacoman on the mound. Sacoman had relieved Earnest an inning earlier.

West Chester got a pair of two-strike infield hits, the first on low pop-up that fell between the pitcher and charging second baseman and the second on a squibber off the end of the bat. Matt Pierizzi then singled through the middle to bring home Maimo to tie the score at 3-3.

West Chester got six hits and scored four runs in the inning to take a 6-3 lead.

But Mansfield made things interesting in the bottom of the seventh when Taylor Hillson singled and moved to second on a ground out. Miller then walked giving Mansfield runners at first and second with one out and the potential tying run at the plate. But West Chester was able to retire the last two batters in order to preserve the win.

Hillson had two of Mansfield's six hits in the game with LeClair and Tentnowski each driving in a run. Although he didn't figure in the decision, Earnest had an effective outing scattering two four hits and striking out seven in 5.2 innings while walking one. Mapstone took the loss.

Kyle Weary picked up the win in relief of West Chester's starter Joe Gutowski to improve to 3-1.

Mansfield's makeup doubleheader with Kutztown scheduled for Monday has been moved to Canton High School starting at 1 p.m.
