MANSFIELD – Westyn Baylor drilled a three-run home run for Mansfield but Millersville rallied for two runs in the top of the seventh to down the Mountaineers 5-3 in the nightcap of a PSAC East doubleheader Monday afternoon at Shaute Field.

Millersville won the opener 13-3.

In the nightcap, Millersville broke up a scoreless tie by scoring three times with two outs in the top of the fourth. Two of the runs came on a double by Dan Stolzfus.

Mansfield answered right back in the bottom half of the inning. Brandon Miller and Eric Schanzenbacher both singled with one out before Wes Baylor delivered a three-run home run to left to tie the game at 3-3. It was Baylor's team-leading seventh home run of the season and the most home runs in a season for a Mountaineer since Cody Stinger hit seven in 2009.

Millersville threatened again in the fifth when the Marauders got a one out single followed by a walk to put runners at first and second. Senior Louis Sick replaced Mansfield starter Matt Engler and worked his way out of a bases-loaded jam to retire the side without giving up a run.

It was Mansfield's turn to threaten in the bottom half of the inning when Wes Custer singled to open the bottom of the fifth. Custer later advanced to second on but the Mountaineers couldn't get the run across.

Sick got himself out of a jam again in the sixth. Tyler McDonald was hit by a pitch to start the inning and Millersville had runners on second and third with no outs after Dan Stolzfus singled and stole second.

Mansfield got the lead runner out at the plate on a pickoff attempt and Sick got the next two hitters to ground out to end the threat.

The Mountaineers advanced a runner to second in the bottom of the sixth when Schanzenbacher singled with one out. The senior moved up to second but the Mountaineers failed to plate the go-ahead run.

Chas McCormick led off the top of the seventh for Millersville with a single to right and moved up to second on a passed ball. Tyler Orris then doubled in the winning run. Orris later scored on a double by Zach Stone to give the Marauders a 5-3 advantage going into the bottom of the seventh.

Mansfield didn't go down easily, putting runners first and second on a two-out single by Owen Lukens followed by a walk by Taylor Hillson before a pop-up ended the game.

Baylor went 3-3 with a home run and three RBI's to lead the Mountaineers offensively with Schanzenbacher and Custer each getting two hits. Sick was charged with the loss.

Stone went 3-4 for Millersville with Adam Zipko throwing the last two innings to pick up the win.

In the opener, Millersville struck for two runs with two outs in the third and added five runs in the top of the third to take a 7-0 what would prove to be an insurmountable lead.

Mansfield got RBI's from Anthony RenzMarshal Kiessling and Taylor Hillson with Johnathan Earnest starting and taking the loss.

Dan Stoltzfus with 4-5 with five RBI's for Millersville. Chris Murphy went six innings to pick up his eighth win of the season in 10 decisions.

Mansfield travels to Lock Haven for a PSAC East doubleheader on Wednesday.
