FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mountaineers Fall to Slippery Rock 7-3
CLEARWATER, Fla. – Mansfield pounded out 10 hits in the game, but it wouldn't be enough as Slippery Rock came away with a 7-3 win Tuesday morning at Jack Russell Stadium.
The loss snapped an eight game win streak for the Mountaineers and was their first loss in Florida.

Seth Tressler continued his hot hitting, going 3-for-5 at the plate.
The Mountaineers took an early lead, scoring all three runs in the top of the first inning.
Johnny LeClair plated the first run with a double to left field to score
Brandon Miller. The very next at bat,
Anthony Renz brought home LeClair and
Eric Schanzenbacher with a single to right field.
Slippery Rock rallied in the bottom of the inning to tie the game at 3-3 with three runs on five hits. After five scoreless innings, the Rock scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh to take a 7-3 lead.
Graeme Zaparzynski and Kyle Vozar led Slippery Rock offensively, going 3-for-4 at the plate. Vozar had two runs, two RBIs and drew a walk in the game.
Kyle Schneider pitch 7.0 innings with five strike outs, no earned runs and no walks allowed earning his third win of the season.
Mansfield's
Matt Engler made his first start on the season, pitching 3.2 innings with six hits, three earned runs and a strikeout.
Louis Sick, who pitched 2.2 innings in relief, was hit with the loss despite not allowing an earned run.
Schanzenbacher, Renz and
Stanton Tentnowski each had a pair of hits for the Mounties.
Mansfield takes on Lock Haven on Tuesday at 10 a.m. for its final game in Florida.
