FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mounties Host Bloomsburg Wednesday for YMCA Day

MANSFIELD -  The Mansfield University men's and women's basketball teams are set to host the Huskies of Bloomsburg University Wednesday night at Decker Gymnasium in PSAC eastern division action. The women tip-off at 5:30 p.m. followed by the men at 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday is also Mansfield YMCA Day with YMCA youth basketball teams playing at halftime of both the men's and women's games. There are also a limited number of free tickets available at the Mansfield YMCA branch.

The Mountaineer women are 4-11 on the season and hold a 2-9 mark in the PSAC. Junior Jena Matter is leading Mansfield in scoring at 10.8 points a game while freshman Katie Fitzpatrick is just behind her at 10.4 points a game. Mater leads the team and ranks 13^th in the conference in rebounding at 7.3 an outing.

The men are off to a 5-10 start and hold a 3-8 conference record. Sophomore Joe Bell is averaging 17.8 points (7^th PSAC) and 9.1 boards a game (4^th PSAC). Senior Chuck Harper is averaging 13.4 points and outing while junior Charles Becoats is averaging 10.7 a game.

The Mountaineers host Cheyney University this Saturday, Jan. 26 at Decker.
