Mansfield drops doubleheader at Bloomsburg

/BLOOMSBURG – Bloomsburg rallied for four runs in its final two at-bats to beat Mansfield in the nightcap of a PSAC East doubleheader Saturday afternoon at Danny Litwhiler Field.
The Huskies capitalized on five Mansfield errors to win the opener 11-3.
In the opener, Bloomsburg's Vinnie Voorhees allowed just one hit and struck out four over the first six innings as Bloomsburg broke open a scoreless tie with seven runs in the bottom of the third inning.
Bloomsburg added four more runs over the next two innings to take an 11-0 lead after six innings. In the top of the seventh, Mansfield got on the scoreboard reaching reliever Shane Wert for three runs with
Brian Milliman driving in two of those runs with a two-out double.
Danny Brown started and took the loss for Mansfield.
In the nightcap, Mansfield score four runs in the top of the first on RBI singles by
Jon Moser and Jon Tadeo and a two-run double by Brian Milliaman.
Bloomsburg rallied scoring one run in the bottom of the second on a solo home run by Nick Eversole before adding fur more in the third to take a 5-4 lead.
Mansfield countered with two runs in the top of the fifth when Moser singled in a run and Taddeo followed by doubling in Moser for a 6-5 Mountaineer lead.
But Bloomsburg (22-16, 11-9 PSAC East) would score three times in the bottom of the fifth and again with a solo run in the sixth to take what would prove to be an insurmountable 9-6 lead.
Taddeo led Mansfield's 10-hit attack by going 3-3 with two doubles and two RBI's while
Matt Fisher,
Jon Moser and
Jordan Miller had two hits apiece.
Mansfield falls to 10-30 overall and 3-13 in PSAC East play.
The Mountaineers hosts Lock Haven in a single game on Tuesday.
