Mansfield Drops Final Game of RussMatt Invite to Indianapolis

WINTER HAVEN, Fla – The Mountaineer diamondmen dropped the final game of their 2012 Florida spring break trip 14-1 to the University of Indianapolis Wednesday morning in Winter Haven, FL.

The Greyhounds put two runs on the board in the bottom of the first inning followed by three runs in both the second and third to lead 8-0.

The Mountaineers recorded their lone run in the top of the fourth when junior Matt Fisher scored via a sacrifice fly by Mitch Iseneker.

Indianapolis continued to produce at the plate, scoring six runs between the fourth and fifth innings.

Senior Jon Moser went two-for-three at the plate to lead Mansfield offensively. Juniors Conor Thompson and Dylan Woodworth each recorded hits on the day.

The Greyhound's Ryan Hollenburg earned the win, pitching 1.2 innings in relief while allowing just one hit. Mansfield's Craig Cymerman took the loss.

The Mountaineer's move to 6-11 on the season and are currently in a five-game losing skid.

Mansfield opens Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) play on Friday, March 16 when it hosts West Chester University at Shaute Field. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
