Mansfield Welcomes Bloomsburg to Decker Wednesday

MANSFIELD – The Mountaineer men play host to the Bloomsburg Huskies in PSAC East action Wednesday, February 15 at Decker Gymnasium. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. with live stats and ESPN radio with Shane Wilber available at GoMounties.com.

Mansfield (8-14, 5-12 PSAC) snapped a three-game losing streak with a 79-57 victory over Cheyney Saturday afternoon. However with four games remaining in the season the Mounties are eliminated from playoff contention being five games back of 4th place West Chester. It marks the first time since the 2007-08 season that Mansfield has not earned a PSAC playoff berth.

Mansfield ranks 7th in the conference in scoring offense averaging 75.2 points per game while giving up an average of 76.6 ppg (12th PSAC). The Mountaineers lead the league in steals at 9.1 spg and is 2nd in assist/turnover ratio at 1.1.

Joe Bell, who earned his sixth PSAC Freshman of the Week honor on Monday, ranks 13th in the PSAC in scoring with 15.5 ppg and 11th in rebounding with 6.8 rpg. Bell leads the conference in field goal percentage at 55.8%.

Junior Chuck Harper ranks second on the team and 21st in the conference in scoring at 13.5 ppg and is 3rd in the PSAC in field goal percentage with 51%. Senior point guard Josh Dupuy ranks 2nd in the conference in assists (5.3 apg), 3rd in assist/turnover ratio (2.1) and 5th in steals (1.6 spg) while sophomore Kyle Bradley is 2nd in assist/turnover ratio (2.1) and 4th in steals (2.0 spg).

PSAC East leading Bloomsburg (16-7, 12-6 PSAC) narrowly came away with a 75-72 victory over the Mounties in their last meeting at Nelson Field House. Harper scored a game-high 17 points while Bell Bradley and Cory Henneghan all scored in double-figures.

The Huskies rank 10th in the PSAC in scoring offense with 73.2 ppg, but give up only 68.1 ppg (5th PSAC). Bloomsburg is a solid team on the boards, holding a +4.0 rebounding margin over opponents this season.

Sophomore Dontahe Jordan ranks 10th in the conference in scoring at 15.9 ppg and 13th in rebounding at 6.6 rpg. Senior Larry Webster is 7th in rebounding at 7.9 rpg and 3rd in blocked shots at 1.7 bpg.

Junior Nnamdi Joku leads the PSAC in 3-point field goal percentage, connecting on 54% of his shots.
