ERIE – Mansfield's
Joe Bell scored a game-high 16 points, but it wouldn't be enough as the Mounties (5-7, 2-6 PSAC) dropped a 74-54 decision to PSAC West foe Gannon (8-4, 6-2 PSAC) Saturday night at the Hammermill Center.
The Mounties reclaimed the lead at the 11:16 mark on a Bell lay-up after trailing for much of the first half. Mansfield led by as much as six points, but a 23-7 run by the Knights put the Mounties down 10 points at the break with a score of 37-27.
Mansfield closed within six points with 15:32 remaining in the game, but poor shooting down the stretch hurt the Mounties as they fell with a final score of 74-54.
Bell's 16 points marks his ninth double-digit scoring performance of his career. The freshman just missed his second double-double of the season recording nine rebounds. The 6-6 forward had three blocks in the contest.

Kevonte McClain added 10 points while senior
Josh Dupuy chipped-in eight points and four assists.
The Mounties' shooting woes continued Saturday at 30.9% from the field and 25.0% from behind the arc.
Gannon's Brandon Belt led four Golden Knights in double-figures with 16 points. Junior Darrell Blanton picked-up a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds on the night.
Mansfield will open PSAC East play when it travels to East Stroudsburg on Jan. 11.
