Box Score

EAST STROUDSBURG – East Stroudsburg used a 15-4 run over the last five minutes of the first half to beat Mansfield 76-56 in the PSAC East season opener for both teams Wednesday night.

Mansfield struggled to get any momentum in the game, trailing 9-2 after the first five minutes before the Mountaineers clawed their way back to cut the lead to 21-19 on a Kyle Bradley free throw with just under seven minutes remaining in the first half.

But East Stroudsburg responded with the 15-4 run as Mansfield connected on just one field goal, a 3-pointer by Chuck Harper, over the final five minutes of the first half to take what proved to be an insurmountable 40-25 halftime advantage.

Mansfield had three players score in double-figures led by Joe Bell with 12 points followed by Chuck Harper with 11 points and Josh Dupuy with 10 points.

Bell and Harper played sparingly in the second half with Harper picking up his fourth foul with more than 12 minutes remaining in the game.

East Stroudsburg (9-6, 5-4 PSAC) was led by King's 18 points with Duane Johnson adding 15 points and Lamont Tillery 11.
