WINTER HAVEN, FL – Dylan Woodworth singled in what proved to be the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift Mansfield to a 7-6 win over Concordia-St. Paul in Winter Haven, FL Monday.

Mansfield (3-0) jumped out to an early lead with three runs in the bottom of the first inning with Seth Tressler, Kevin Miller and Mike Hartz hitting back –to-back-to-back singles to open the inning. Tressler scored on Hartz single and scored on a fielder's choice by Jon Moser. Jon Taddeo then singled in Hartz to give Mansfield a 3-0 lead.

But Concordia (0-3) rallied in the top of the second on two hits and four walks off starter Mike Martin to take a 4-3 advantage.

Mansfield retook the lead with three runs in the fourth inning on RBI's by Brian Milliman, Glen Jenkins and a sacrifice fly by Tressler to go up 6-4.

Concordia closed to 6-5 with a run in the top of the seventh before Woodworth's two out single in the bottom of the inning scored Hartz giving Mansfield a 7-5 advantage.

Concordia scored a run in the top of the eight to pull to within 7-6 but Andy Young, who had come in relief in the top of the eighth, retired the side in the top of the ninth to earn his first save of the season.
Marc Baker, who relieved Martin in the second, picked up the win scattering 7 hits over 5.2 innings while striking out three.

Woodworth was 2-3 with an RBI and Hartz 2-4 with an RBI to lead the Mountaineer offense.

Cody Wilcoxson took the loss in relief for Concordia with Bryan Lippincott went 3-5 with an RBI.

Mansfield will play Northwood University in a doubleheader Tuesday starting at 9 a.m.
