Nicole Yost hit a two-run round tripper in the 6th inning to become the all-time career home run leader in Mansfield softball history. Yost, who was tied at 18 home runs with former Mountaineer Jackie Laskowski, blasted one out over the centerfield fence to stand alone on top of the record books. Yost had a productive game going 2-3 at the plate, bringing in two runs, and scoring two runs against Northern State University.
Kate Pratt continued her impressive freshman campaign going 3-4 while recording two runs and an RBI.
Janelle Antes tallied a hit and a walk and reached home twice.

Liz Pieniazek hit her first career hom run in the second inning, bringing in Yost and
Stephanie Simmeth. Pieniazek also pitched 2.1 innings in the circle for the Mounies.
Emily Crandell recorded her first win on the season allowing only four hits and striking out two batters in four innings.
Mansfield won by a final score of 8-3 over Northern State.
The Mountaineer bats had a tough time against Wayne State College in their second game of the day. Wayne State pitcher Katie Goetzinger threw a no-hitter in a complete game effort recording eight strikeouts.
Mansfield fell with a final score of 1-0.
Friday's two games wrap-up Mansfield softball's 2011 spring break trip. The Mounties are back in action March 18th when they travel to Salem, Virginia to take on West Liberty State in the WVWC Softball Challenge.
