EAST STROUDSBURG – Yuseff Carr scored a game and season-high 25 points to lead Mansfield to an 80-66 win at East Stroudsburg in a key PSAC East contest Wednesday night at Koehler Fieldhouse.

It was a critical win for Mansfield which remained in second place in the PSAC East one game behind Kutztown which edged West Chester 67-64.

Mansfield trailed 33-32 at halftime but used a 15-5 run to start the second half, taking a 47-38 lead with just over 13 minutes to play. East Stroudsburg was never able to get closer than seven points for the remainder of the game as Carr scored 16 second half points.

East Stroudsburg trailed 70-61 with 1:55 to play when Mike Tobin scored on a layup but the Mountaineer defense, which held the Warriors to their lowest point total against a PSAC East foe this season, didn't allow another field goal until Will Brown hit a 3-pointer with 22 second left.

Mansfield held a 41-29 rebounding advantage and connected on 23-30 free throws in snapping a season-long two game losing-streak to improve to 14-7 overall and 6-3 in PSAC East play.

Carr had his best overall game of the season hitting 10-of-19 from the floor and 5-of-7 free throws while just missing a double-double with a game-high nine rebounds. Derrison Anthony scored 16 points before fouling out of the game with a little over two minutes to play and Tony Fannick added 13 points, including 11 in the second half. Freshman Kyle Bradley scored all eight of his points in the second half.

Mike Tobin led East Stroudsburg (11-10, 4-5 PSAC East) with 12 points while Mike DeMarco added 10.

The win gives Mansfield an all-important season sweep over East Stroudsburg and a tie-breaker advantage in any playoff scenario.

Mansfield will host Millersville this Saturday afternoon.
